How Long to Meditate?

Make Time

Deciding how much time you want to spend meditating is completely up to you. If 15 minutes seems impossible, learn how to find 2 hours in your day from Marie Forleo’s book, Everything is Figureoutable.

If you are new to meditation, cap your meditation sessions at 15 minutes for the first month order to seamlessly incorporate meditation into your life. Don’t change anything else in your routine during this time. Keep your daily routine as consistent as possible. One key to success is implementing one new habit at a time. Change too many things and your body and mind will overthrow your efforts.

What is your "why?"

If you remind yourself why you are learning to meditate before, then you’re more likely to succeed. Do you want mental clarity? A higher spiritual connection? To be healthier overall? See what all of the fuss is about?

5 minutes

If 15 minutes is too much initially, try 5 minutes. Once you can consistently sit still and meditate for 5 minutes then try 10 minutes. Work your way up to 15 minutes over time.

1 minute

Begin your day with 1 minute of gratitude. Spend 1 minute mentally listing everyone and everything that you’re grateful for in your life. Do this every morning when you wake up and every night before you fall asleep.

take Time for yourself 1 minute at a time

Spend 1 minute taking time to disconnect from the over stimulating world we live in. Take a breather from being overwhelmed, multi-tasking and distraction.
