Birth Chart
Your birth chart is a snapshot of the sky at the moment you were born.
In Jyotish, the birth chart is known as the Janma Kundali. It illustrates the placement of the nine grahas (planetary influences) within the twelve rashis (zodiac signs) and twelve bhavas (houses).
The North Indian birth chart has a fixed arrangement of twelve houses, beginning with the first house at the top center and moving counterclockwise.
As you learn to recognize these symbols and their meanings, you’ll begin to understand the language of Jyotish.
The 12 Houses
The twelve houses, or bhavas, represent different areas of life.
Each house provides insight into a particular aspect of our human experience.
