Listen the way that you want to be heard. Listening is an active skill that requires you to wholly give your attention to the speaker.
You may find it helpful to practice the mantra “I hear you. You don’t have to agree or empathize with what is being said. Simply listening without interruption or judgement lets the speaker feel heard and acknowledged.
Try listening better this week and ask yourself, “What have I learned by listening to others?”
